Answer #1

Answer: Alcohol consumption is one of the major cause of chronic liver disease. Alcohol addiction leads to increase risk of developing liver diseases. There are many controversies regarding the liver transplant. Due to the shortage of the organ and organ donor, it has become necessary to choose the better patient for the liver transplant. Hence a proper screening is being done to collect all the information.

People with liver disease due to alcohol consumption have less survival rates after the liver transplant as due to the alcohol addiction, they might not recover easily. Hence patient with liver disease and are non alcoholic should be provided the liver transplant as they have not played with their life by consuming excessive alcohol. This is because the chances of non alcoholic survival rate of the patient is more as compared to the alcoholic patient.
