• Educate the patient and demonstrate 4 non - pharmacological technique to help decrease pain .

OUTCOME :

• The patient will verbalize decrease in pain by rating pain less than 4 on 1- 10 scale within 24 hrs of receiving pain medication.

• The patient will be able to move his left femur without pain in 48 hrs after starting pain medication.

• The patient will verbalize how to correctly take pain medication before discharge.

• The patient will demonstrate 4 non- pharmacological technique to decrease pain.
