Can someone please dumb down and explain the difference between Situatedness and Constitutedness in the context of relational nursing practice? Thanks!
I can explain this by giving you an example.
A nurse finds herself/himself in an emergency room where a patient with sudden cardiac anomaly such as a myocardial infarction. The situatedness dictates the use of morphine, oxygen, aspirin and other drugs associated with the treatment. The health professional goes by the book and administers the treatment as per guidelines. Despite this treatment sometimes the patient does not recover or detoriates further. The situation is not always expected as per textbook. This is what we refer to as constitudness.
