The safe shut down procedures to be followed are as follows:

• Switch off the machine using normal isolating procedures which includes mains isolation switch, hydraulic supply valve,drain valves.
• The stored energy is dissipated using drain valves.
• Hydraulic supply valves are locked in the closed position in order to prevent oil entering the system.
• Drain valves need to be locked in the open position whereby hydraulic oil drains to the oil reservoir.
• Blocks and chocks, Locating pins are used to prevent hydraulically powered components from moving under their own weight.
• A hydraulic fuse is installed at strategic locations in case of sudden increase of flow, they burst and stop fluid flow.
• Depressurize the system before starting of work.
