1. Microprocessors have actually changed our lives a lot, we are dealing with many things in our life from the point we wake up in the morning till the point we sleep at night.
They have been parts and parcel of our life.

  • We can take automatic cards for instance which are possible due to high-speed microprocessors only.
  • In medical science as well, they have huge contribution in creating the devices which use microprocessors wisely.

2. A microprocessor is a very tiny, electronically run brain which can do a very big calculation micro-seconds.
It has many different functions from doing very small calculation to very big calculation. Taking the input from the user, and then processing the information and generating a legitimate output of it and then passing it to the output device.

3. It has a great impact on every human being whether he is working for himself or for an organization. There are many tasks which are possible just because of the microprocessor. The organization is developing the microprocessors at a very high speed and thus this is making their tasks very efficient. As the organizations are building the products for society efficiently and perfectly, thus it is helping our society a lot.

4. Following are the generation which is there in the lifecycle of the microprocessor

  1. First Generation((1971-73)): These are the microprocessors which do the instruction handling serially, first of all, one instruction is fetched and then executed and then next instruction is
  2. Second Generation (1974-78): These were 8-bit microprocessors and have overlapped fetch, decode and execute commands.
  3. Third Generation (1979-80): These were 16bit microprocessors and they have a performance like mini-computers
  4. Fourth Generation (1981-1995): This was one of the turning points when the companies came up with a 32-bit processor, which made the computing very fast. Intel came up with 80386.
  5. Fifth Generation (1995- Till date): They contains 64-bit processors and they contain millions of transistors on them and contain many cores in them, which can work simultaneously.
