why do we multiply the numerators and the denominators in fractions problems
If you multiply both the numerator and denominator of a fraction
by the same non-zero number, the fraction remains unchanged in
value. Therefore, equivalent fractions can be created by
multiplying the numerator and denominator by the same
number.For example
X=5/10 on simplify X=1/2
Multiply numerator and denominator by 5
Now,
X=25/50 on simplify X=1/2
So, for getting unchanged value we have to multiply both numerator
and denominator by same multiplier.
