What is a trapezium (meaning the geometric shape)?

Can you find both definitions (the American definition and the British definition)?

The British call a certain shape a trapezium. What do we call that shape here in the United States?

There is a bone in the human body called the trapezium. See if you can find a picture of it. Where in the body is this bone located? Why do you suppose the bone was given this name? (It’s ok to guess)

Please answer all of the above in paragraph form

Answer #1

Trapezium in geometry means a flat closed shape with 4 sides.

British defination is that "a 4 sided flat shape with straight sides and with at least one pair of parallel sides."

American defination is "a 4 sided flat shape with straight sides and no parallel side ".

In United States it is known as "trapezoid".

Trapezium bone is found in hand.

In my view is looks similar to trapezium shape, so its name is given that.
