In recent years various optimization methods for array pattern synthesis has come in to light explaining the possibility to achieve the desired patterns more or less with negligible deviations.we know that the array pattern depends on the coefficients of the elements and they play a major role in pattern synthesis, beam steering and in maintaining an allowable side lobel levels

Here are few optimization methods

1.optimization using weighing method

a)chebyshev method

b)Taylor method

3) Statistics based weighing method

a)least mean square algarithm

b)kalman filtering
