Question 3
a) In your own words and understanding analyze the different
channels of BJT and
JFET .Support your answers with various circuit symbols ?
c) As an Engineer in the Electrical and Electronic field , what are
the competing argument within carrier generation and recombination
with respect to electron / hole concept. Illustrations your answer
with diagram.
please answer all.thank you.
a) BJT sta d sfor Bipolar Junction Transistor. It is also know as current controlled device. Since the output current will be controlled by inlut current. Whereas, FET stands for Field Effect Trasistor. It is also knlw as Voltage controlled device. Both devices made up of PNP kr NPN magerials. In BJT, the current flows from collector to emitter when device is ON. In FET also, the same case is observed but there exists a channel between source and drain. In FET majority charge carriers will only flow, but in BJT, both majority amd monlrity carriers will flow.
c) Initially the electrons are in valance band. When an external supply is given, the electrons in the valance band jumps from valance band to conduction band. This process is called carrier generation. The electrons in the conduction band may lose the energy after sometime. Hence, the electrons in the conduction band again comes to the original position in to the valance band. Here the process of recombination takes place.
