What function of money is BEST served by money that can last for hundreds of years?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Apart from medium or exchange and as a means of making comparisons between a bundle of goods, the other two functions are store of value and standard of deferred or delayed payment. Now that the first two functions are short term the long term functions are store of value and standard of delayed payment.

Store of value can serve a better purpouse in long run because money can be used to buy gold, silver and other assets with least depreciable value. These assets can be retained once again even after 100s of years by exchanging them for money. Hence Store of value is BEST served by money that can last for hundreds of years
