The major religions of the world came into existence hundreds of years ago. While in most ways we don't behave like individuals living hundreds or thousands of years ago, many of us still shape much of our lives using the guidelines set forth by ancient religions. What do you think makes religion an apparently permanent dimension of human life? Can religious beliefs survive in the scientific age? Are they resoundingly outdated? Or, is there something in them of great importance, even if the way they are expressed will have to change given new scientific context?
Most of the religions of today’s world like Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, Hinduism etc. have emerged in ancient times. They influence almost every culture, society, and civilizations with their teachings, ethics, and beliefs.
Due to the rapid increase in technological advancement 21st century is known as an era of science and technology. It is true that rational thinking and science is very important in the development of society and humankind but religions are also similarly important. Because they teach us what is ethically and morally right in order to create harmony and peace in the world. Famous scientist Eisenstein also said that “science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind”.
