SSNIP means small but significant and non transitory increase in price. Under this method, a very small subset of products is taken into consideration to find out the relevant market. The relevant market would comprise all the goods which are substitutes to each other. The test observes if whether a small increase in the price of a product would induce consumers to shift to other products.

It becomes very important when government wants to intervene in a market where the firms might abuse their market power.
