Answer #1

America is regarded to be middle class society. America was raised on ideals of justice and equality. Hence, huge section of population was in middle income bracket. Hence, it was witnessed that middle class was playing critical role in political and social spheres. In 1971, 63 % population was middle class which now dropped down to 49 %. Middle class was getting around 62 % of GDP in 1971 which now dropped to 43 %.

These data suggests that upper middle class is moving towards the high range of income and lower middle class is moving towards the lower range of income. Now there is yawning gap between the upper and lower middle class.

Now American society is no longer seems to be middle class ones owing to significant rise inequalities.
