How has the use of violence affected this group/coalition's overall agenda / socio-economic status/political future (if applicable, assuming there is some agenda outside of violence)?

Violence has been used by many socio political groups to subjugate the other groups and appropriate absolute power into their hands. For example, the whites in the US had for long subjugated the blacks by inflicting violence upon them and forcing them to slavery. This was possible because the whites had the economic, social and political capital which it had accumulated through years of violence and subjugation of the marginalised groups. History has also seen counter violence by the marginalised groups to get their deserved political rights. This has enabled them to better their conditions and freed them from slavery. In such situations, the agenda was not violence but getting a foothold in the existing power structure. However, in certain cases such violence causes loss of innocent lives from all the groups and does not serve the betterment of any particular group.
