Monetary policy :- Monrtary policy is acquired by the Central Bank of the country, it implies supervision of money supply and interest rate. There are three main tools for the operation of monetary policy;
First, Open market operations tool
Second, discount rate tool
and Third is reserve requirements tool.

The Covid 19 outbreak is causing tremendous human and economic hardship across the United States and around the world. The virus has caused a sharp decline in economic activity and a surge in job losses, with the un employment rate which had been at a 50 year low.
So in the light of the effects of Covid 19 on economic activity, FOMC rapidly lowered the federal funds rate.So they can control the present situation and achieve maximum employment and price stability goals.
