Answer #1

Ans- CMOS gate(Complementary metal -oxide semiconductor ) is pMos pull -up network connected to the output 1 and nMos pull -down network connected to the output 0. this gate is depicted below . they are connecting pull-up and pull-down of output. there are two types of CMOS.

  • High noise immunity.
  • low static .

These characteristics allow CMOS to integrate a high density of logic function on a chip .it was this reason to implemented in VLSI chips.

The Purpose of CMOS-

  • virtually , no DC power consumed.
  • NO DC path between power and ground .
  • Excellent noise margins (Vol=0,VoH=VDD).
  • Inverter has sharp transfer curve ..
  • High gain and current drive .
  • High speed .
  • Mechanically robust.
  • Very low static power dissipation.
  • High noise margin.
