The vice president of accounting says to you, the IT director, “This request procedure takes too long. My people know what they are doing and their systems requests are necessary and important.” She suggests that the IT department bypass the initial step and immediately get to work on her requests. What would you say to her?
As the requests are necessery and important we cannot eliminate it. But the issue is that it is taking too long. By too long do you meen the resolution of requests or the time of request process. If its process that is taking time we can look into finding some steps that can be bypassed. Also we can filter the requests based on there criticality. For this we can device a scale from 1 to 10 and create a process which can rate it , so that we know which are omportant ones.
