You are the practice manager for a small rural clinic. Your clinic will be adopting an Electronic Health Record called PracticeFusion. The clinic has previously been all paper-based, so, all of your clinic’s 60 users (clinical and administrative staff) will need to be trained. The hospital has designated its largest conference room to be used for this training. However, the room is not currently set up as a training environment. Your boss (the hospital administrator) has tasked you with examining the requirements, designing the best layout for the room, and submitting a purchase request for any equipment that is needed.

  • You look at the room and determine that 14 staff members can fit at one time
  • Existing technology in the room includes:
    • Projector
    • Projector screen
    • Podium computer (connected to projector)
    • Four Ethernet plugs (one being used by the podium computer)
  • The supply warehouse has seven 6-foot tables that can be used
  • Your budget for completing the project is $6,500
  • The computer department does not have any spare technology equipment that can be used temporarily
  • Identify the minimum technology requirements for the PracticeFusion EHR.
  • Research any type of computer that meets at least the PracticeFusion minimum requirements.
  • Provide a rough drawing/sketch of how the conference room will be set up to accommodate training.
  • Your boss has requested that you submit your results (assignment submission), in a Word document formatted as follows:

Page 1: list of the PracticeFusion minimum technology requirements

Page 2: Purchase request for needed computers including quantity, individual price, and total cost. Provide a brief analysis of how these computers will meet the requirements for the PracticeFusion training.
