Assess and discuss the "future of databases". In particular, emphasize the future role of both SQL and non-SQL technologies. Based on your research do you think SQL will be the dominant database language 10 years from now? Why/why not?
Database is the collection of the data in an organised manner. Over the years database has gone through many changes. In the future it is supposd that the non relational databses will be more in play. For more information you can even go through the future of real-time analytics on transactional data, which is an very famous in today's era. Also you can go through the cloud database platforms which is also an emerging topic.
Both SQL and Non SQL technologies are the hottest topics of the decade. To emphasize more on the future roles you can go through both the types of technologies and pick out only those points which are going to be featured in the future. For the Non SQL technology you can go through MongoDB, CouchDB, CouchBase, etc and for the SQL technology you can go through MySQL, Oracle etc.
SQL has been a dominant database for quite a long time but in the future we think that the cloud based database and the real time databases will be more in application. But we cannot ignore the usability of the SQL based databases.SQL is a very powerful one, it has given so many types of technologies. It is still growing and is very much preferred by the developers. So, from my point of view SQL will still be dominant in the coming 10 yrs. But you can still put forward your points from your understanding of the topic.
