- There are mainly 3 types of calculated column i.e. Placeholder, Summary and Formula column.
- It is an extention of the table using a formula.
-- Calculated field : Calculated fields are the fields in whicht the results are deduced by performing some functions on the values of some other table.
- The value obtained from this is not stored in the database table but is only displayed when the function or query is run.
ANS 2. The benefits of calculated field over the simple excel formulas :
1. In calculated field we can use and data type.
2. The calculated results of all the aggregations and functions in calculated field are virutally limitless unlike the excel formulaes.
3. Calculated fields deduce the results by performing some functions on the values of some other table, so there is huge scope in this.
4. The calculated fields give result more fastly than the other, so highly preferable nowadays.
ANS 3. Difference between Related vs Vlookup :
--- RELATED : the related function returns the single value from the other table which is related with the current table and the value.
- In this the relationship between two tables is checked for value to be reurned
--- Vlookup : It is a function which provides vertical lookup. It search the required value in the first column and thus retuen the value in the same row of the table at a specific location mentioned.
- It is a build in function in Excel.
