Install a device on a computer. If you are working in a classroom environment, you can simulate an installation by moving a device from one computer to another. Devices that you might consider installing are a video card, webcam, or fingerprint reader.

The only iportant thing while installing any device is the device drivers.These device drivers are essential and without that the hardware won't be able to able to communicate with the cpu and hence it won't work. Most recent devices come with inbuilt device drivers which get automatically installed , also most os have prebuilt drivers for most hardwares ,

Still it's best to follow these steps, (we will be considering a webcam)

  1. Plug in the webcam into the usb port
  2. once inserted open ypur attched devices it will show the just inserted device , open it and install the file there ,
  3. if no file was there then go to the device webiste, enter the model number , your os and download the driver adn install it
  4. after that restart your pc
  5. that's all , you webcam will start working
