In the oil and gas industry, drilling performance considered as
success, various researchers as well industry organization have
been finding in which way to improve drilling with respect to time
and efficiency which are the important criteria in drilling
process.
A study is done to find out rock isotropy by application of
mechanical and physical measurements along with oriented drilling,
as anisotropy has a distinct impact in drill performance.
Based on these findings. the study then performs drilling
experiments on anisotropic rock in order to measure the effect of
anisotropy on drill efficiency.
