When water is added to cement heat generated is known as heat of hydration which liberates heat and depends on temparature.

Effect of Temparature on hydration of Portland cement

1 with increase in temperature increases the rate of hydration.

2. With increase in Temperature Early compressive strength will be achieved.

3.at low Temperatures cement may form micro structure which leads to decrease in strength properties.

4.low temparatures reduces the hydration rate but doesn't effect the hydrate reaction.

5.temaprture changes on hydration shows effect on setting time of cement.
