what can be used to reduce noise in a pump ?

what can be used to reduce noise in a pump ?

Answer #1

Use pipe bends of large radius to minimise the impacr of which which causes vibrations.

Use vibration isolators at the mounting to minimise vibrations.

Use pressure valves to reduce pressure when necessary.

Place a pumpset inside a room with sound insulation.

Limit the velocity of flow by increasing the pipe size.

Increase liquid level around suction area, reduce RPM of motor, Reduce temperature...this all will fix the problem of cavitation which causes noise in the pump.

An electric pump consumes 15 kW electricity, and is used to pump water at a volumetric rate of 50 L/s. The absolute pressures at the inlet and outlet of the pump 100 kPa and 300 kPa. Assuming that there is negligible difference in kinetic energy between the inlet and the outlet (how is that possible?) and that there is negligible difference in height between the inlet and the outlet, calculate: (A) the mechanical efficiency of the pump, and (B) the...
