In this situation, as an engineer you are requested to find a suitable site for construction of engineered land fill in Page 5 of 5 outskirts of Muscat. What are the parameters you will consider for suitable site selection?

Parameters for suitable site selection are:

• Site should be away from natural sources of water and other protected natural resources.
• Selection of site should be in such a way that it doesn't cause any disturbances to other industries and facilities.
• Site selected for engineered land fill should have proper transportation roadway facility for hauling vehicles.
• The landfill should be away fro residential areas and from main roads.
• The impact of landfill in the selected site has to be studied in order to minimize its negative effect.
