The solubility of aspirin in water is 3.30 g/L. If a person rinses their aspirin product with 40.4 mL of water, how many grams of aspirin will be lost to the filtrate (rinse water)?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Given that;

The solubility of aspirin in water is 3.30 g/L

1 L = 1000 mL

Means, the solubility of aspirin in water is 3.30 g/1000 mL

1000 mL water contains = 3.30 g aspirin

40.4 mL water will contain = 3.30 g aspirin /1000 mL *40.4 mL

                                                   = 0.133 g

Hence 0.133 g of aspirin will be lost to the filtrate.
