un decoupled 13c nmr and off resonance , Is there any other carbon NMR experiment one can carry out that will provide the same information? list the name the experiment ?

Answer #1

As you may know, carbon peaks in NMR are split by neighbouring H atoms. In decoupled NMR, the peak splitting is removed. But in off-resonance decoupling the C-H couplings are retained so that the peaks split. This gives information on how many H atoms are in the vicinity of the C atom to which the peak belong to.

There is another variation of NMR called DEPT (Distortionless enhancement by polarization transfer). This allows to differentiate between CH, CH2 and CH3 groups.

In electron spin resonance (ESR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), the energy levels of electrons or protons, respectively, are split with a magnetic field (otherwise known as the Zeeman effect). Electrons or protons with spin in the same direction as the magnetic field have lower energies than electrons or protons with spins aligned opposite to the field. The energy difference between these levels depends on the strength of the field, so ESR and NMR can be used to measure, very...

Select any job, assistantship, internship (paid or un-paid), or volunteer position. You can use the same one you used for the interview assignment if you choose. Briefly list the primary responsibilities of someone in this position. Then, develop a performance evaluation for employees who hold this position. The purpose of your performance evaluation is to provide feedback to the employee as well as to provide a means of comparison of employees for consideration for raises and promotions. You can use...

Summarize the relationship between the positive/negative charges in resonance structures and proton chemical shift. Solved Problem Analysis: Below is a 1H-NMR analysis for 4-nitro-N-vinylaniline. Read the analysis then critique the presented solution. Determine if the solution is correct or not. Write a paragraph on how you would convey the same information (include corrections or suggestions to improve the analysis presented). Tip: you may want to build the compound in ChemDraw and use the 1H-NMR predictor to help with your critique....

Design an experiment situation that would use a one-way independent ANOVA for the analysis. You don’t need to go all out, but provide enough information about your design to make it clear that an ANOVA is a good analysis Do the same thing as above but for a t-test instead

Background Almost all animal and plant cells require oxygen and give off carbon dioxide. This is called gas exchange and it occurs by passive diffusion. Some animals do all or most of their gas exchange across their skin (for example amphibians) but they have very low metabolisms and use very little oxygen and get rid of very little carbon dioxide. On the other hand humans (and other mammals) have very high metabolic requirements and we can’t rely on gas exchange...

I have a question for my homework that says to react the following compounds with one equivalent of NBS with CCl4, and that they give only one major product. Then we have to explain why we gave our answers. I think this was just an accident that my professor left it out of the question, but wouldn't the reaction with NBS and CCl4 also need heat or light and peroxides to work? I've done the questions as if they were...
