The purpose of your performance evaluation is to provide feedback to the employee as well as to provide a means of comparison of employees for consideration for raises and promotions. You can use any focus and rating method. Develop a list of items to be included in this evaluation. Take into account potential errors that occur during performance evaluations and make your items as objective as possible to try to minimize these errors. Identify the focus of dimensions, rating method, the individual(s) who will be completing the performance evaluation (ie. direct supervisor, manager, peers), and frequency of this evaluation (ie. quarterly, semi-annually, annually). Minimum 10 items.
