Sodium hydrosulfite has typically better results than the hypochlorite. It is is deu to the reduction rpesence of NA2S2O8 compared to NAClO which is pretty caustic

2. What effect did sodium hypochlorite have on each of the dyed cotton strips?

Will remove dye, since OCl- ions will attack the dye

3. What effect did sodium hydrosulfite have on each of the dyed cotton strips?

Na2S2O4 --> used in reduction of dyes... they will remove the dyed cotton colors
