Serial dilutions Please draw how to prepare this serial dilution

prepare a series of p nitrophenyl phosphate concentrations from 1x10^2 M from to 3.125x10^-4 using the DEA buffer as diluent. do this by srial diluting the 1x10^-2M stock by 1/2 so you end up with 2 ml each of p-nitrophenyl phosphate concentrations of 5x10^-3M, 2.5X10^-3M, 1.25x10^-3M, 6.25x10^-4M and 3.125x10^-4M

Answer #1

The diluton scheme starts by diluting at 1/2 each serial dilution starting from the original solution of [p-nitrophenyl-phosphate]0 of 1.0.10-2M. The first dilution number 0 is with 4 ml of 1.0.10-2M. Next dilutions starts with 2.0ml from each previous dilution and adding 2 ml of DEA in each succesive dilution.

The scheme is:

In dilution 0: [p nitrophenylphosphate]0= 1.0.10-2M. It must not need DEA buffer

It needs 2.0ml of DEA

It also needs 2.0 ml of DEA

This dilution scheme and calculus continue until dilution number 5

You will prepare a serial dilution with 6 tubes. Into tube 1 you add 0.9 ml NaCl and you add 0.5 ml NaCl into tubes 2-6. Next you add 0.1 ml of serum to tube 1 and mix and transfer 0.5 ml to tube 2. Continue making serial dilutions through tube 6 (discarding 0.5 ml from tube 6). Finally, you add 0.5 ml of sheep RBCs to EACH tube (1-6) What is the final dilution in each tube after the...

A student in Biology 328 performed a serial dilution series on his dirt sample to determine the starting concentration of bacterial cells. He performed 5 dilutions by adding 1 mL of the previous culture to the next culture (sterile water) and plated the last dilution as follows: He plated the bacteria by pipetting 1 mL and 0.1 mL (Plates A and B respectively) and spreading the culture evenly over a R2A plate.
