A local chemical processing plant is processing plant is producing the compunds NaCI (s), [Cu(H2O)2(OH)2] (s), and [Cu(H2O)4)]Cl2 (s) investigated in this inquiry. What conditions will cause an increase (shift to the right) or decrease (shift to the left) in product yield? Provide examples from your exeperiment data to support you answer.

Answer #1

Solution :-

The concnetrations of the reactant are important

When the concnetrations of the reactans are increased then it causes the right side shift in the equilibrium of the reaction which leads to the formation of the more product

So if we increase the Na or Cl2 then it will shift equilibrium to NaCl side

Also in the production of the other two compounds that is [Cu(H2O)2(OH)2] (s), and [Cu(H2O)4)]Cl2 (s)

Increasing the reactant concentration will shift the equilibrium to right side

For the endothermic reactions increasing temperature causes the right side shift and decreasing temperature causes the left side shift

If the products are removed from the reaction mixture then it causes the right side shift and forms more products but if the products are added to the reaction mixture then it would cause left side shift in the equilibrium.

A chemical plant uses electrical energy to produce gaseous Cl2 and H2 and aqueous NaOH from aqueous sodium chloride and water. Cl2 and NaOH are important feedstocks for producing other chemicals, while H2 is an important fuel and chemical feedstock. Consider that you are starting out with 1.5 x 105 kg of NaCl and 1.5 x 105 kg of H2O. 2 NaCl (aq) + 2 H2O (l) = Cl2 (g) + H2 (g) + 2 NaOH (aq) A. What is...

Chemical Reactions Types and Their Equations Making Heat with Chemical Reactions Have you ever wondered how an instant heat pack works? A disposable heat pack works by a chemical reaction that combines iron in the package with oxygen from the air when the outer packaging is removed producing iron oxide. You have probably seen the product of this reaction in what is commonly called rust. The reaction releases heat, which allows the pack to reach a sufficient temperature that is...

Organizing Organizing is an important task of managers. Once the organization’s goals and plans are in place, the organizing function sets in motion the process of seeing that those goals and plans are pursued. When managers organize, they’re defining what work needs to get done and creating a structure that enables work activities to be completed efficiently and effectively by organizational members hired to do that work. As Starbucks continues its global expansion and pursues innovative strategic initiatives, managers must...

Wal-Mart Online Wal-Mart is one of the largest companies in America. It is definitely the largest retailer, both in terms of the number of stores (8,970 worldwide in 2011) and the level of sales ($419 billion from the 2011 Annual Report). By pushing suppliers to continually reduce costs, Wal-Mart is known for pursuing low prices and the stores often attract customers solely in-terested in lower prices. With Wal-Mart’s expansion into groceries, the company has be-come the largest retail grocer in...
