Answer – We are given the ester molecules and we need to write the mechanism for the saponification for the given molecule methyl tetradecanoate. We know saponification means the hydrolysis of ester. When ester reacts with base and water there is formed carboxylic acid and alcohol and this is called saponification. In this one methyl tetradecanoate gets saponification and form the methanol and tetradecanoic acid.
