Radio isotope scanning is the method used in the treatment used in the medicinal practices to identify of various disorders in the human body.

Radio isotope scanning means the radioactive isotope is injected in the patients body the radio isotope emits certain types of the radiation whose activity is checked on the scanning devices from which the dignose is done.

There are different radioactive isotopes used for the used for the different organs testing.

Generally the radioisotopes emits the gamma ray which are detected in the detectors. Sometimes the damaged area or cells shows more emission of the gamma rays then that part is observed in dark red color or in higher concentrated area.

Radioisotopes are used in the bone scan , kidney scan , heart scan , lungh scan etc.

Examples of the radioisotopes used for medicine are   123I , 18F , 67Ga, 82Rb etc.
