What is corrosion? Why is corrosion only a problem in some metals (such as iron)?
Alot of details please
corrosion is the gradual destruction of metals by chemical reaction with the environment. Corrosion is a characteristic phenomenon. The propensity of metals to corrode is identified with the low stability of the metallic state.Corrosion is an oxidation response with oxygen within the sight of water on the surface of a metal. Iron erodes more rapidly than most other metals to form an iron oxide. Rusting is oxidation since iron iotas losing electrons. The real issue of erosion happens with iron (or steel) as it is utilized as an auxiliary material in enterprises like development, framework, spans, rail transport control transmission, shipbuilding, cars, overwhelming businesses etc. Due to the aluminum oxide layer on its surface aluminum does not corrode like iron. Non-receptive metals like gold, platinum, mercury don't corrode.
