Are "bond distances" (for example, the C-C bond) and also "bond angels" accurate in a molecular model? (Explain)
Hi
Molecular model are 3-D representation of a molecule with the help of balls and sticks. Clearly the bond length in molecular model is far more bigger than the actual bond length which is studied microscopically. Also, in same cases bond angles are accurate like (e.g. molecular model of methane) but bond angles deviate from reality in molecular model when there are lone pair and bond pair repulsions in the molecule. So, moleculatr model can give you a good idea of structure of molecule, but it is not accurate.
