Which one of the following should have the lowest boiling point? F2S, SnF3, C2H5OH, CF4, HF

Answer #1

Since the boiling point of any molecule depends on the polarity of the molecule. So, higher the dipole moment of the molecule greater will be the boiling point as more heat has to be provided to overcome the attractive intermolecule force. Polarity of the molecule also depends on its shape hence symmetrical molecules are non polar so here CF4 being tetrahedral in shape will be non polar as all the ligands are same hence the net dipole moment of all the bonds nullifies
