White gold was originally developed to give the appearance of platinum. One of the formulation of white gold contains 25% nickel and 75% gold. Which is more malleable white gold or pure gold.
Pure gold is more malleable than white gold. Remember alloying (mixing two metals in different proportions is referred as alloying and the product is called alloy) always gives to the product less malleable, ductility, more harder than pure metals on a mho's scale. Few examples are brass (copper+zinc), bronze (copper+tin) are less malleable than pure copper, zinc and tin independently.
