CCl4 has a normal boiling point of 170.1 C and its Hvap is 41.12 kj/mol. Calculate the molar entropy of vaporization (Svap)

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Solution :-

Delta H vap = 41.12 kJ/ mol * (1000 J / 1kJ) = 41120 J/mol

Normal boiling point = 170.1 C + 273.15 = 443.25 K

Molar entropy of vaporization (delta S vap ) = ?

Delta S vap = Delta H vap / T

                   = 41120 J per mol / 443.25 K

                  = 92.8 J/mol K

So molar entropy of vaporization is 92.8 J/mol K
