Boiling point of tertiary butyl alcohol is 82.2 0C

Boiling point of 2-butanone is 79.64 0C

The Azeotropic Distillation is used when the Boiling points of two components are near to equal.

The third component is used to lower the B.P. of one of the components.

2) Vacuum Distlillation

The B.P of Diethylene Glycol is 245 0C

This is antifreeze component. For removing water we required Vacuum Distlillation.

3) Extractive Distillation

Boiling point of diethyl ether is 34.6 0C

Boiling point of chlorobenzene is 131 0C

Extractive Distillation is used when the components have High B.P. and relatively Non-volatile component.
