The species diversity of plants (22 per cent) is much less than that of animals (72 per cent). What could be the explanations to how animals achieved greater diversification?
The species diversity difference could be because over the time animals have evovled their body structure and nervous system for survival as compared to plants. Surviving i.e. to feed and mate are the two things animals are evolved to ensure their offsprings survive in extreme conditions. One of the classic example being evolution of life form from Single celled organism to multicellular organism, other examples of evolution is 99 % similarity between a gorilla genes and humans, also evolution of human beings on this planet to "Homo Sapiens". The basic criteria is survival hence, animals are more evovled or diverse compare to plant species.
