If the green allele had been completely lost from the population and beetles only had the brown allele, how would the beetle population respond to invasive moss why do you think gentic devesity is imporant for populations
If the green allele had been completely lost from the population and they have only allele. If the moss is invasive species in this area. Then the beetle has higher chances of predation by its predator. Because brown coat color will be easily distinguished by the predator in green moss environment. That's why the population suze first decreases, then some of the beetle individuals undergoes natural selection for the green allele. They will survive and reproduce more. There is found green allele again in beetle population for survival against the preedation.
