What is NF?B and what is its role in mediating signals through TLRs?
NF-kB, (nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B
cells,
is a protein which regulates trascription as well as prodcution of
cytokines in cells.
The protein complex plays an important role in regulating immune
response.
TLRs are the recpetor proteins which activate the target proteins
when bound by specific molecules.
When specific molecules like IKK complex binds to TLR, the
downstream NFkB is activated
leading to transcription of specific genes.
