In a study to determine the prevalence of a disease across the Ghana regions during COVID-19 pandemic. However, it is widely known that the disease is common in males than in females and among the aged than in young people with many people being asymptomatic. Also, certain categories of workers such as health professionals, barbering shop operators, bar attendants, market women, research laboratory staff, etc. are considered to be at a higher risk of contracting the disease.

Briefly describe the sampling technique(s) which could be adopted for this study.

Ans. Random sampling method can be adopted wherein the samples are taken randomly from the population without any bias. The sampling should be done from all sections of the population i.e. from among the healthcare workers, barbering shop operators, bar attendants, market woman, laboratory staffs etc. as well as common people but the number of individuals should be more from the these high risk sections of individuals because they are more likely to get the disease contracted. By analysing the frequency of occurance of the disease among the high risk groups we will come to know who are more prone to this disease. If there is occurance of this disease among the common people we will come to know that there is community transmission in the society and the degree of contagiousness of this disease can be determined.
