Wives, Handmaids, Aunts, Econowives, Unwomen, Martha's and jezebels were the different role of women in the book.

Handmaids- the only duty of Handmaids is to carry children and they were raped by the commanded. Seen to be sinner in previous life.

Aunts- This is the highest status given to working women. They may be enforcers or instructors.

Econowives- Who do not need to be forced into servitudes.

Unwomen- Lowest ranking females

Marthas- Higher rank than handmaid and assigned to commander as household servant.

Jezebel- Women who denied to teaching of Gilead's.

Overall the commanders or male get benefitted by this while the females Sacrifice their dignity and made to designated as stereotypical objects.
