1. Instrumental leadership focuses on achieving targets and goals. Individuals who dominantly employ instrumental leadership work to maintain efficiency and productivity among the team members and ensure that their tasks are completed. They thus prioritize the task rather than the members of the group. On the other hand, expressive leadership emphasizes group cohesion and cooperation among team members. Dominantly expressive leaders aim to maintain warm, friendly relationships and ensure the collective well-being of the group. However, they can sometimes lack efficiency and organizational skills.
