Can you hypothesize a trait in a group of animals (not finches) that might be selected one year and then not selected the next? Please explain your example and your reasoning.
One example of such a natural selection of trait can be seen in peppered moth during the industrial revolution in England. There are species of moths based on color; light ones are named typica and dark colored are named as carbonacia. Initially in England, the light colored moths dominated. As the industrial revolution began, the soot from the pollution started depositing on the bark of the trees where these moths reside. The dark ones thus could camoflough with the soot covered trees, while the light ones became victim of predators. And now with the industrial improvements and other measures being taken to control pollution, the trees could retain their original light color and the typica again started to flourish.
This is a typical example of a trait in animals that can be selected 1 year and not the 2nd year.
