Answer #1

Answer:- We will first place short day plant under short day conditions the plant will flower. Then plant is placed under long day conditions it should not flower. If results are as stated the it would mean that gene X is repressor of FT (florigen). Thus gene X might be synthesise repressor protein that prevents FT gene expression. Again if we graft a branch of SDP after short day condition into long day plant even under long day conditions if plant don’t flower then gene X is repressor for FT gene.
