The term used for such condition is Edema.

Edema is the medical condition which is caused by the filing of fluid within tissues. This is mostly caused by the leaking of fluid by the small blood vessels in the near body tissues. Edema mostly occur in the lower parts of body such as feet, ankle and legs. Edema can be confirmed by pressing that part for few seconds and release it causes dimple formation in that area . Edema is caused by sitting for long time , in pregnancy condition etc. which shows it works with gravity.Mild edema normally goes on its own where as in extreme cases drugs are given which leads to release of excess fluid in urination.
