Baseline and significance means collection of basic infomation and it is also called as baseline data .Baseline data is the data collected about the various factor of the project study. this includes-

Physical- the area, soil properties, the geogical charecteristics, the topography, watershed properties,etc.

Chemical- water,air,noise and soil pollution level, etc.

Biological-the diversity of area,type of flora and fauna ,species richness, species distribution, type of ecosystem, presences or absences of endangered species and sensitive ecosystem etc., .

Socioeconomic- demography, social structure, economic condition,developmental capabilities, displacements of locals etc,.

Cultural- location and state of archaeological and religious sites.
