Answer #1

ANS.Beta-blockers also known as Beta-adrenergic receptor antagonistis, are prescription medications used primary in treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease, inculding heartattacks, high blood pressure and arrhythmia.since cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death in adults, these medications are commonly precribed.

There are two pre-dominant type of Beta-adrenergic receptors:beta-1 and beta-2. beta-1 receptors are primarly found in heart while beta-2 receptors are primarly found in tissues other than the heart such as airway, blood vessels and muscles.drugs that mostly target beta-1 receptors called cardioselective beta-blockers.and non-cardioselective beta blockers bind to both the types .examples for cardioselective beta-blockers is "metaprolol" and "atenolol" commonly used in united states, and example of non-caridoselective type are "proanolol" and "nadolol".
